Tomorrow my PowerBook goes back to AppleCare for the fourth time in less than two years for yet another video-related issue. I’m about to have a seizure from looking at my effed-up screen, but to blog, I’ll suffer through it. Luckily I’m headed to Vegas for most of the time that Apple will have my laptop, but still the separation anxiety is frightening.

However, more disturbing than my bizarre attachment to my computer is my attraction to Footballers Wives on BBC. It’s not enough that I’m a crazed-Anglophile who watches too much Little Britain. Now I’m hooked on this fantastic show that is one part Playmakers and two parts primetime soap opera. Sure, people love DH, but like all good shows on America television, the British version came first, and they did it much better.

What is it about our culture that we can’t discover anything new? We couldn’t even discover the country - we had to steal it from someone else. We need to take everything and put our classless stamp on it. All we do is remake, revise, or regurgitate. Poorly.

joe biden

seriously? joe biden? i love the man, he makes “dela-where?” attractive, even if it’s a cesspool in slower (lower) delaware

how-ev-er

president? running with john mccain? you’re giving the average American more than s/he is worth

i love delaware with its no-sales-tax and UofD’s fantastic bars… but let’s be serious - they have a 1am curfew on alcohol… most of redneck America can drink until such time as their wife/sister has to come pick them up from ‘hatfield’s house of ho-down” and they beat her until she realizes the error of her ways… we breed and nurture stupidity, because inherently, we are hierarchical - we like to control the masses

the only reason i hope it’s her is that i believe it’s time - we need to tough-love our appearance on the world stage - thatcher was a bitch, clinton will be a bitch as well - thatcher would not back down, but she was reasonable, logical, maternal - i contend clinton would be the same - certainly they are politicians and those sorts are always misaligned - however, some have slight better intentions than others, and those are ones we like

but, of course, everything could go awry and we could end up more distant and hated than ever… that’s when i finish my phd program amd score a professorship in wales or ireland or somewhere almost as cool - me? no, i’m quebecois
